Long Lost Fren

After nearly 6 years of disappearance, an old fren popped up active on my icq list recently.
It was a sweet surprise and reminiscing about old times is great.

I told him about my blog today. Welcome Melvin! :)

American Express Part 2

I mentioned previously before this nice guy from Amex rang me.
He rang me again today. Finally found out the purpose of the call.
He wanted to persuade me to consolidate all my bills and have them charge to my Amex card.
Shall consider that if the benefits work out to be better than POSB's Everyday Card.
Ha! I did not fall prey to Mr Nice Voice.

Anyway, Mr Nice voice is called Kriston......Hmmm unique.

Massage

This back pain had been bugging me for a couple of weeks now.
It's not some stabbing pain...but a constant nagging sore and the back is STIFF.
It's like when you need to crack your joints so bad but no matter how hard you try, you just cannot get a sound out kinda of pain.

I tried all sorts of maneuvers to crack my back to no avail.
The pain was getting incessant and I decided to go for some traditional Thai massage today.

Gosh the massage was good. Reeeaaaalllllllly good.
When the masseur held my hands and swung me from side to side, my back was going "crack" and "crack" literally.
When she propped her knee against my back and pulled me slowly backwards, my back was cracking from my lower spine up till my shoulders blades.
I counted at least 5 "cracks".

I am really loose now. No pun intended.

Doraemon

Trivia:
Do you know Doraemon used to be yellow?
Some rat chewed off his ears and he turned blue in misery.
That is also why he hates rats?

Anyway, I saw this cutest car adorned in full Doraemon colors this morning.
Kawaii!!
By the way, a guy was driving the Doraemon-mobile.

A&W

I found out Cornball has a colleague whose dad owns the chain of A&W restaurants in Indonesia.
How cool is that?
Anyway, he got this A&W bear from her and I decided to snitch it.
Ok...I was thick-skinned and I asked Cornball for it.

Look how nice it sits amongst my plushies on my office desk:

Thank you Cornball!

Scenic View

I was just standing at my office pantry today and was stoning in front of the window.
Although it was not the first time I stood there, it was the 1st time I really paid attention to the scenery outside from that position.

Hey, the view is not too bad to me although it's just skylines of buildings. Sometimes, you just have to take a closer look at your surroundings in order to appreciate the beauty.

Wish List

There are some things in life that I wish to own and below is the list in no particular order:

1. BMW 6 Series Convertible
2. Omega Constellation My Choice Automatic
3. Nokia Sirocco

Yummy!

American Express

Just got a call from American Express.
Actually the second call today. Managed to speak briefly to a very nice guy before I had to attend to an overseas call. So I did not find out the purpose of the call.

Another ger just called my office desk phone. Weird.
As if to accentuate she is with American EXPRESS, she just rattled on as if from a script.
Anyway, I gave her what she needed.

I wonder if the same nice guy will call me again?

Bad Mood

Cannot place my finger on it.
I am not in a good mood.
Sick of work. Sick of people.
Thought some Ben&Jerry's will help.
It did not.
Think I need another holiday.

Pun Intended

It's always advisable that golfers bring two pairs of pants to the golf course.
Reason: In case you get a hole-in-one.

Bizzare Accident

I am hurt. By a damn bottle of Easy On.
Yup a HUGE bottle of double starch that makes ironing easy.
It did not make things easy for me.

I was ironing last night when the damn bottle of Easy On fell on my toe. The metal bottom edge landed right on my toe.
The pain was excruciating and for someone with high threshold pain, I burst into tears like a baby.

This is the culprit.

My toe is still swollen and I am still in pain. *Sobz*

Of Youth and Pimples

Never have I thought I would be plagued by pimples in my adult life.
I do not mean just some teeny spots on the face but big, grotesque red ones!
They do not just hit me once a month these days but sprouting up whenever they feel like it?!

I just passed my 30 year old mark on earth, truly I should be spared from such youthful pains?
Having skin that does not heal well did not help also. One red spot could mean weeks of spending more time to conceal it every morning.

One just popped up on my right cheek. DAMN!

Freaky

Just when I am thinking about playing basketball again, I ran into one of my old team mates today.
We started discussing about our alumni tournament and how we will be seriously trashed.
Came up with this devious plan to tell our teacher that we are not playing so that she will not schedule matches for the "Oldies" team.
We will just go down that day and play one exhibition match or something *HAHA* Like real!

Guess what, I just received an sms from my teacher about the alumni tournament on 15 July 2007. She told us she wants to see us that day and reminded us to start training NOW.
How freaky is that?

Bad Vibes

My colleague, G, commented something was brewing within the office.
I felt it too. We could not exactly place our fingers on it but we both agreed the vibes were not too good.

There had been many closed doors sessions between my MD and our Finance Director recently and much more today.
I have never mentioned much about my colleagues but I do have one colleague, S, who was not quite performing at her job.
Anyhow, I had that feeling someone just tendered their resignation and I was right.
S just submitted her resignation.
I also found out another hardworking colleague, B will be likely resigning too as well.
Oh dear dear me.....the morale is indeed low within the company.

Good Samaritan

Someone asked me for directions to Robinsons at Cityhall when I was walking around Suntec Tower 2 earlier.
Since I was in a good mood, I decided to not just give directions but offered to bring them there.
Ha not to Robinsons but walk them to Tower 4 where there is a free shuttle to Cityhall.
Found out they were here on business trip and someone told them about the GREAT Robinsons Sale.
I had wanted to make more small talk but alas realized the shuttle bus was about to leave the bay.
With a hasty "Thank you" shouted across the winds from them, they were gone.

Blogging

My gerfren was inspired to blog after reading my blog.
I am a good influence.
Actually she is the second one to start blogging after I started this sanctuary.
Lover was the first one but I think she stopped after awhile.

Welcome to the blogging world, Female Bangala!

Basketball

The NBA season is now in the conference semifinals stage and I managed to catch a couple of games. Seeing the matches brought back many fond memories of the times I was actively playing basketball. My JC alumni tournament is also coming up soon in July and I realized we are so out of touch again! The previous commitment of training twice a month did not come through when a couple of the gers got pregnant.....*LOL*

Cornball got me a smurf playing basketball recently and I put it on my office desk.
Seeing it everyday at work is inspiring me to start picking up basketball again. If only he was wearing a Number 11 jersey...that would be so apt :-P
Just like me in the heydays.

Simply Nice

I have been on the lookout for this particular CD -

I (Sony Ericsson logo) simply nice songs for a long time now. A couple of places I went had no stocks.

Finally found it within Carrefour today. Of all places and selling for $17.80 only!

3 CDs for the price of one. Such a good deal!

Brazilians & Boyzilians

It's all about the hair! Wooohoooo!
Let's get technical here.
Wikipedia states:

Brazilian waxing is a type of waxing involving the bikini area. This procedure involves the complete removal of hair from the buttocks and adjacent to the anus, perineum and vulva (labia majora and mons pubis). It can be thought of as a more extreme form of bikini waxing. The majority of types of Brazilian waxing leave a small line of pubic hair above the vulva, commonly known as the "G-Wax" or just "Brazilian". Waxes that completely remove the pubic hair are either termed "Hollywood" or "Sphynx" depending on the salon visited. Sometimes the term Full Brazilian Wax, Full Bikini Wax or FBW is used. While mainly associated with females, the practice is engaged in by males as well. The male version is now being referred to as the boyzilian.

See the full details here.

I did a couple of Brazilians now and it was rather painless the 1st time.
The second time was slightly more painful.
Despite the pain, everything just feels cleaner without any hair there.
I think I am addicted.

Baby Gemma

My sister asked me why I didn't write anything on my baby niece, Gemma on my blog.
I replied that I didn't know what to write.

Oh well...what the heck.
I do not have to write anything much.

A picture speaks a thousands words.

This is my new born niece, Baby Gemma on 19 Jan 2007.
Below is a pic of her at 3 mths old.

She is soooooooooo adorable!

Makeover

I was offered a free makeover by a new image studio last week.
This was not the first time I am offered a free makeover but I have never ever agreed to go.
They must think I need lotsa of help.
Anyhow, I decided to go for it this time since they promised there will not be any hard selling of their services.

They asked me if I got any preferences for any costumes. Eeeks....no way!
What the heck, just take the pics in the clothes I am wearing.
They also asked me if I like my hair to be done in a certain way, again I had no preferences.

Check out mua eventually:

Cornball said the first pic looked fake and I looked pregnant in the second.
So much for makeovers. *Sigh*

Boycott

I decided to get a haircut and re-color my hair last Thursday.
Wanted to give Jean Yip a try since I never been there before.

Anyway, stepped into the salon and this senior stylist touched my hair and said my scalp was extremely oily so he started preaching about this treatment they have.
He wanted me to do the treatment instead of color.
No matter how reluctant I was, he just wouldn't listen!

In the end, I spent SGD180 for a dumb treatment that has no effect whatsoever.
The hair cut I wanted was just a few snips from his precious scissors.
The only consolation was that he touched up some color near my roots.

I never felt so short-changed before. I should have been more adamant about wanting my color.
End of the day, I will never ever visit Jean Yip again.
Most horrendous experience!

Appreciation

My company does not practise the bonus system
Hence, no matter how well you perform, it will not mean a big fat bonus at the end of the year.

However as a token of appreciation to non-commissioned based staff like myself, my company gave every one SGD300 worth of Suntec vouchers each for meeting the numbers last year.

Yippie...so I am SGD300 richer in vouchers.

How Fast Can You Take Off Your Bra

Someone forwarded me a link today.
Check it out here.

It's about 4 gers on a radio show who were going through a challenge of how fast they can remove their bra.
I dunno the point of the challenge but majority of them have nice looking boobs for sure.

I wonder how fast can I take off my bra?

Charger

I have always kept my phone charged and hates it when the battery power depletes to "LOW".
Well it happened last Friday whilst I was out for a hot chocolate with my colleague, M, at Starbucks and I started whining about my phone running out of battery.

Anyway, I was so paranoid that I ran back to my office to borrow a charger to charge my phone before I met another gerfren for drinks.

This morning, I came to the office and saw a pressie on my desk from that same colleague.
Here's what I got:
So sweet of M. Thank you!

Dog in the toilet

I do not mean a doggie pup in the toilet but its a hot dog bun!
Seriously, I am not joking.
I was going to a toilet within Suntec when I saw this hot dog bun on the toilet paper dispenser.

Another close up view:

Geesh...the sight is quite gross with the smeared mustard.

My gerfren's theory was that someone was on the way to the movie with her delicious hotdog and she had to go to the little ger's room urgently.
In all haste, she must have forgotten her hotdog bun which she left on the dispenser whilst going about with her toilet business.

What a waste! *LOL*

CD

I went to That CD shop the other day and Cornball asked if I wanna buy any CDs or was I gonna skive off him again by making him burn another copy of CDs he bought.
I do not typically buy CDs as I listen to the radio more but I sure would not mind if I can get free copies of music. :P

I made an exception today and bought 3 CDs at one go.
OK rather, it was a bundled deal and 3 CDs were cheaper. *LOL*

I convinced my colleague, M, to get one whilst I kept 2.
I am now listening this CD:

It's really quite nice.

Bottle Warmer

My mummy told me to buy a milk bottle warmer for my niece recently.
It's amazing how she can tell me its those warmer that I used when I was young and I recalled immediately how they look like.

It's one of those things that you do not forget and searching for one brought back such nostalgia.
I managed to find one with cute prints tucked away in a very obscure corner of Carrefour eventually.

All my colleagues thought it was so old-school.

Hot Pot

I was just browsing through my pictures and came upon this pic of the first Korean hot pot that I had.

In all excitement when the pot was served, I attacked the food with gusto and forgot to take a pic.
So if the food does not look that appealing...you know why as I was already halfway through the food before I took a pic.
The pot was huge..and the restaurant allows unlimited topping up of the soup.
It was an unforgettable dinner. *burpz*

Winnings

Yippie I broke the curse!
I finally won at mahjong. SGD50 in winnings exactly.

So freaky.....I lost SGD50 the last time.

Mahjong

Yay! I am playing mahjong later today.
Been a long time since I last played and also lost everything.
Ok that is kinda exaggerating. I basically just lost all the chips I was assigned with (SGD50 to start).

Hmmmm....come to think about it.....I never really won before at this place.
It's like my nemeses. I won SGD8 the very first time I played there. I never ever won again.

Will things change this time?
I let you know later.
